About
Stair, porch and stoop railings for Baltimore and the surrounding counties.
Baltimore Stair Railing installs, replaces and repairs stair railings, handrails and guards across Baltimore City and Baltimore, Howard and Anne Arundel counties — interior staircases, rowhouse stoops, porches and decks, in wood, iron, aluminum, cable and glass.
Most Baltimore railing work starts with something already there: an iron rail set into a marble or concrete stoop, a steep rowhouse stair tight against a party wall, a porch railing in a historic district where the City or county reviews what goes back. The residential code sets the heights and gaps; City zoning, historic commissions and four different permit offices decide the rest.
A measure on site, then a written quote covering material, length, mounting and labor, with the repair option alongside the replacement where there is one. Nothing is cut out or ordered until you approve it.
Warranty terms are set out in writing on your quote rather than advertised as a headline number.
Maryland requires home improvement contractors, including railing installers, to hold a Maryland Home Improvement Commission (MHIC) licence. Ask for the number and check it on the MHIC licence search before work starts. In homes built before 1978, work that disturbs old paint falls under the EPA lead-safe (RRP) rule, so ask about that too.
Call (443) 338-9792 or send the form. Say whether the stair is inside or out, roughly how many steps, what the posts sit in — marble, concrete, wood or drywall — and send a photo if you can.
